Dedicated Customer Archive

This optional service includes a dedicated 1Tb (minimum) hard disk drive that is used for your original footage and edited materials only (not shared with other clients) and allows us to rapidly access that material at any time in the future.

For those clients with a significant volume of original footage who expect to reuse any of it in the future, this could make a lot of sense. With the Dedicated Customer Archive service there are no charges for restoring archived footage, for example to edit or re-use it in another project. This might be of use if you plan to use the footage for other purposes or choose to work with a different production company. The disks are stored in a flame resistant cabinet in a separate part of the building (tapes are stored off site).

The service costs £300 (as a one-off charge) which includes a 1Tb hard drive (sufficient for around 35 hours of uncompressed SD DV footage, plus all associated project files, graphics, audio etc) and the transfer of all existing materials. For an additional £200 we can supply a mirror copy of the drive that can be stored in a separate location, for example at your offices.

This service is completely optional but customers are asked to note that should original footage need to be recovered from tape archives a charge will be levied to cover the cost of this effort plus wear and tear to playback equipment. Also, only the original tapes are kept in the tape archive and these can degrade or become damaged through multiple use.

For studio based productions, vIT has facilities just ten minutes off the end of the M3 in the beautiful New Forest, with views overlooking the Isle of Wight.

The studios are well suited to shooting interviews, presentations, video blogs and stills photography, as well as for recording voiceovers and podcasts.

We have comfortable, well equipped meeting rooms for production meetings and viewings.

Oh, and a well stocked bar which opens at 5.30pm.

vIT is as comfortable filming on location as we are in the studio, whether it's at your offices, your customer's or anywhere else.

That goes for overseas as well as UK-based productions. We're able to send a small crew (usually no more than two people) and equipment anywhere in the world without the need for local hire or expensive shipping costs. Years of 'indie' filming experience has taught us how to keep costs down when shooting overseas without compromising the quality of the production.

To date, we've produced films all over the UK and Europe, the USA, Africa and Latin America.
